Maki Tsukino

Animal: Fox, of course, but also hawks!
Age: Apparently around 15, but it's hard to tell with ghosts and foxes individually, let alone both!

Resources

  • Normal Health: 2/2
  • Tough Health: 1/1
  • Will: 8/8
  • MP: 0/0

Skills

  • Fox-Eared Magic 2 (Transformation) Maki has a strong connection to her fox heritage, and spends a lot of time doing little fox tricks.
  • Ghost Magic 3 If you're going to be trapped in a state of eternal incorporeal undeath, you might as well be good at it!
  • Morale Officer 2 You wouldn't think being haunted would make people feel better about their lives, but she's strangely adept at it.
  • Piracy 1 She's only actually a pretty basic pirate.

Perks

  • Bond: Haunt of the Didactic Albatross (2) As a spirit bound to the ship, she's only at her best when she's actually haunting the ship or its components; when she's there, she's pretty neat, though! She also picks up MP whenever her bond to the ship gets her in trouble.
  • Affliction: The Code of the Sea Maki's devotion to the code of chivalrous pirates was so strong that it kept her around even after her untimely death. As a result, she essentially acts as a localized field of the Code itself; she can't violate it, and it's actually hard for other people to violate it when she's around, too! If someone calls for parley, you'd better be sure she's going to listen.

Basic Quest: A Pirate's Romance!

1 out of 9 XP

You love pirates, but not the ordinary, work a day cutthroat types. No, it's the swashbuckling, sailing into the storm, never-tell-me-the-odds, rakish sorts. The kinds of people for whom there's only one real word: Dashing!

Accordingly, you considers it your duty to pop in and recognize any actions that are, in fact, Dashing! That flair for the dramatic, that lovable rakishness, that zest for adventure … you're documenting it and encouraging it at every turn! Sometimes, you might even do something yourself and realize it was Dashing!

Accordingly, you can gain 1 xp towards this quest per scene when someone does something Dashing! and you call it out as such.

Background

Maki was a member of one of the previous crews of the Didactic Albatross, who met a sad end of some sort. Regardless, she was a kid who really loved being a pirate and dedicated herself to the Pirate Code. Which, it turned out, had a clause in it that meant she's still a member of the crew, even though she's dead! Fortuitously, being already a little supernatural in life meant that she adapted to being a ghost pretty easily; nowadays she haunts the ship, doing her duties as best she can, given her condition—which mostly means giving motivational speeches and being super dramatic.
