You are Ivan Arashi, son of Arashi Kaito and Lidiya Ivanova, two shopkeepers from Arcadia. You were raised in a shop, learning to count by watching small coins fall through your father's fingers, and you took to the life of a merchant like a duck to water. You climbed trees, and played with your friends, but you always knew that you would take up the family business one day, and you were happy to! It was exciting, working out a favorable deal. Like a puzzle to be solved, or a riddle to be teased from your mother's smile. A simple life awaited you, but a hopeful one.

But you are Ivan Arashi, son of Lidiya Ivanova and granson of the famous explorer, Ivan Zaprosa, who famously uncovered one of the mysterious Ontological Treasures and used it to make his family fortune. In the night, you pored over his maps, devoured his journals (figuratively, of course), and when you played with your friends you were always the grand explorer himself, swishing your stick that was a sword and laughing, as he did. Ivan Zaprosa feared nothing! Ivan Zaprosa, who stole the Platonic Mirror from the halls of Lord Entropy, who wrestled with the Midgard Serpent and won a kiss from Baba Yaga. You never knew which of his stories were true, and which were false, but they were all exciting! And in your blood, you felt the stir of adventure.

And so it was that, when the captain of the Didactic Albatross came to ask your mother to join his crew, and sail in search of the treasures that were once lost, and she refused, you barged in and demanded to be let along. You knew a bit of the family magic, and you could swing a sword! They had to let you! Your father was aghast. Your mother was furious. But, in the end, they agreed. And now you're sailing on a grand adventure, wondering where the winds will take you, with your grandfather's maps and your mother's sword.

Just brainstorming to myself about Ivan's first Arc. Current thought:

  • Emptiness 1: Called By The Sea (Changes, 21 XP) - Ivan is drawn to the life of a semantic pirate.
  • Emptiness 2: An Ontological Dream (Fascination, 9 XP) - Ivan becomes intrigued by an ontological treasure.
  • Emptiness 3: An Ontological Nightmare (Poisoned, 21 XP) - Ivan should not have been intrigued by an ontological treasure.
  • Side Quest: Something About The Ship (??, 21 XP) - Ivan's also doing something about the Didactic Albatross probably.
