Isolde Kikuchi

The Fox Bureaucrat

XP Emotion: Gratitude Hands

Will: 6/8
MP: 6/5

Academic ability: Good
Athletic ability: Great
Age: 17
Blood Type: O-
Favorite foods: Steamed dumplings, pickled veggies, crab legs, sukiyaki, raspberries, carrot cake, anything with tofu in it
Animal: Fox, of course!

Tenko Magic (Transformation) 3: You're unusually good at shapeshifting.
People Person 2: You're great with people!
“I won’t back down!” 2: You don't bend before rough circumstances or hard deals.
Gardening 1: It's a soothing hobby, and you landscape for some of the town's civic buildings!
Tough-Looking -1: You are tiny and adorable. Alas.

Superior Force of Personality 2 (from Indomitable)
Martial Arts 2: You've picked up some self-defense techniques in all the recent hubbub.
Power-Up: C'mere works with the Arc 2 cost instead of the Arc 1 cost. (That's 2 less MP per pop!)
Aura of Unholy Glory:
Type: Miraculous Action, Major

  • 0 MP—1/chapter, project your intimidating presence
  • 1 MP—do so a second or later time per chapter
  • 2 MP—do so a second or later time in a matter of hours

You can radiate an aura that causes unease and awe in those who would oppose you! This doesn't require an accompanying action to hit multiple targets and isn't as extreme as Paralyzing Fear—this power doesn't freeze people, it just cows them. But oh, the awe it inspires! The fear and amazement it calls forth in the doubting masses! Use this during a particularly heated debate, and surely your opponent must concede before your might!
Connection 1: Ash Valentine. One time she almost tried to kill you thinking you were your ancestor. She apologized, though, and you forgave her, but she still kind of hangs around acting all guilty sometimes.
Connection 1: Pterri Ptolemy. Pterri is really cool! She brought order back to a piece of the Outside, and she has this amazing machine that lets her change the world! But she's kind of irresponsible about it sometimes, so as her friend it's your job to rein her in a little bit.

Basic Quest

421853610880532481.png?v=1 Tireless Administrator (3/9 XP)
You care deeply about your community, and you’re always thinking about ways to make it a better place to live. Once every fifteen minutes/page-and-a-half/whatever, you can propose a theory about how to improve the town for an XP.

Quest 1

421853623576952842.png?v=1 Preparing for a Festival or Event (5/21 XP)

This town is tiny—more a collection of tents, really—so you’d expect everyone to know each other. But no! Everyone’s all insular and paranoid! And ok, you can’t really blame them, it is pretty dangerous out here. But that’s exactly why the townsfolk need to band together! The less they have to fear from each other, the easier life will be for everyone. In the spirit of that, you’re organizing a festival as an excuse to get everyone together. So what if you don’t have any official authority? This is something you know how to do, and you’re sure it’ll pay off. Plus, you get the weird feeling you’re not the only one who wants this festival to happen…

3 XP:

  • You help define/establish for the players an important part of what this festival will be about
  • It's the week before the event's supposed to happen and nothing's ready!
  • 0-3 days before the event, a huge problem comes up or remains! And then you solve it.

  • planning the layout (of festival booths, props, lighting, etc.)
  • coming to consensus on the event's biggest features
  • preparing or rehearsing for things
  • constructing the things you'll need (booths, props, costumes, etc.)
  • posting bills
  • getting people the equipment they'll need
  • dealing with a completely goofy problem

Side quest

421853623576952842.png?v=1 Dependable Person (3/24 XP)
You’re trying to be somebody that anybody can call on, or depend upon, at need. That's the best kind of person to bring order to a place like this, so that's who you want to be!

You'll do what you can to help people. You'll give within your means. Most of all, you won't distrust anyone without a good reason, and you certainly won't give in to ordinary fear!

The catchphrase of a dependable person—the reason they do everything they do—can be summed up in the phrase "people need people". You can earn a bonus XP for this quest once per scene/15 minutes/page-and-a-half by recontextualizing or explaining what you’ve been doing or what’s been going on with that catchphrase or a personalized variant.

Emptiness 2 Quest Miracle

421853556862222344.png?v=1 A Hole in Your Soul (3/9 XP)

Isolde's fox-spirit ancestor has made a home within her—literally. They've crafted a mansion of shadow around the contours of her soul where they spend their time lounging on magical couches of human skin or whatever. The thought of that kind of messes with Isolde. I mean, she's already playing host to an evil spirit, now it's filling her with pocket dimensions and weird spirit knickknacks too?!

Well. If she's basically their landlord now, the least they can do is let her in every so often, right?

This Quest is her way of working towards that, at least indirectly. She's trying not to consciously think about it, but it's always so hot, and a shadow mansion is probably nice and cool inside, right? Once per scene/page-and-a-half/whatever, she can earn an XP for this quest by wiping her brow and/or saying something like "Phew! Sure is hot today." or "Think the heat will let up soon?"

On completing this Quest Miracle, she'll gain some form of access to her ancestor's sweet mansion. It's tied to her, and she'll be able to defend it with her Health Levels if need be.
